Rimini
The City of Dreams
Rimini has represented the dreams of generations of holidaymakers for 160 years: courtesy, the welcome offered by its residents and a territory which offers both 15 kilometres of beach and a treasure chest filled with art overlooking the sea make Rimini a point of reference for international tourism.
In Rimini the sea is a way of life, it is the set for Fellini’s films (a museum dedicated to the director was opened in his home in 2003), it is the legend of summer fun for all tastes, because there’s something new every day, and it is the magic of the winter sea. But first and foremost, Rimini was a highly desirable and much fought-over town, “capital” of a Seigniory. Consequently it is full of traces left by twenty centuries of history, from the Bridge of Tiberius to the Arch of Augustus, from the Malatesta Temple to the Domus del Chirurgo.
Lastly, Rimini is also country and sea tradition: the ruby red of Sangiovese, the typical Romagna wine, the blue of the fish that swim in the Adriatic, the gold of the ground wheat which is indispensable to make the piadina and homemade pasta, and the green of extra virgin olive oil.
