Having always been famed for their anti-inflammatory, rehabilitative and regenerating properties, the spa waters of Salsomaggiore are of four different types: natural water containing sodium chloride and iodide, water containing sodium chloride and iodide but deprived of iron, Mother Water and decalcified Mother Water. This variety enables the creation of personalised therapeutic and wellbeing courses: hot muds and treatments to contrast arthritic and rheumatic illnesses, as well as circulatory and gynaecological problems, respiratory treatments to solve problems affecting the airways, oral bathing therapy for the health of the mouth, baths for physical rehabilitation and motor reactivation. The Terme Berzieri Wellbeing Centre, a gem of Art-Déco architecture, offers aesthetic treatments and courses enriched with the active ingredients of the water from which they originate. In 2009, the Wellbeing Centre has three new pools, “I Mari d’Oriente”, an exclusive combination of lights, music and water jets, offering 500 square metres of new wellbeing.
