Bertinoro and Fratta Terme
The welcoming hills of Romagna
Resting on the gently rolling hills, Bertinoro, an old medieval village which has retained its original structure, with cobbled streets and atmospheres of days gone by, has always been known as the Balcony of Romagna: on clear days, the view towards the sea and hills is spectacular. The charm of its history emerges strongly during a visit to the historical nucleus of the centre, with Piazza della Libertà and the age-old Rocca del Barbarossa, now home to the University Centre and the Interreligious Museum.
Everything is accompanied by a deep-rooted tradition for hospitality which withstands the passing of time, embodied by the ancient Ring Column, which dates back to the 13th century and hosts the great “Hospitality Festival” every year at the beginning of September. Here, in the heart of Romagna, just a few kilometres from the sea, a visit to the spa becomes a real holiday.
