Savouring the traditional products and dishes of Emilia Romagna means sharing a fundamental aspect of its people and enjoying a totally unique pleasure. Enjoying the same during a thermal spa holiday means extending pampering to the delights of the palate.
The products of Emilia Romagna that are more appreciated worldwide are Parmesan cheese, traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Parma ham - the top in terms of excellence - along with homemade pasta, ranging from lasagne to tagliatelle, cappelletti and tortellini.
The richness of cured hams and salamis marries well with tasty piadina from Romagna, which is also delicious with creamy cheeses like squacquerone, or with gnocco fritto (fried dough), accompanied by a good red wine like Sangiovese or Lambrusco. And to end any meal, try some panpepato from Ferrara, a tasty cake packed with candied fruit and nuts.
